Terms of Use

The rules for using 1Lock.

Last updated October 15, 2026.

1Lock is an iPhone app. It seals apps you choose after a daily limit, and opens them again when you pass a short language quiz. These terms cover that use, and 1Lock Plus. The app itself is licensed to you by Apple.

The license

Apple licenses the app to you under its Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms add how the seal and Plus work. If they ever disagree with Apple’s terms about the license or a purchase, Apple’s terms apply to that part.

No account

You do not need an account. Lessons, quiz history, rules, and the PIN stay on the iPhone. See the privacy page for what stays on the device.

Free and Plus

The free app includes starter cards in English, Spanish, Mandarin, and Japanese, and two seals. A sealed app can always be opened with those starter cards.

1Lock Plus is optional. It is either a yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Plus covers all four languages, the later levels, sentences, short readings, speaking, unlimited seals, and the hard seal. The price is the one shown in the app when you buy.

Payment and renewal

Apple bills you. 1Lock never sees your payment details.

What the seal can and cannot do

1Lock uses Apple’s Screen Time to seal the apps you pick. You can turn that permission off in Settings, or delete 1Lock, and the seals stop. A PIN can hide rule changes inside the app. It does not stop that Settings switch.

Do not seal Phone, Messages, or anything you might need in an emergency. Speaking checks that the words were recognized. It does not score accent or tone.

Your use

Use 1Lock for yourself, or for a child on a device you manage. Don’t use it to lock someone out of a phone that isn’t yours to manage.

The lessons

The cards are 1Lock’s. You may use them inside the app. That does not give you a right to copy the decks or republish them.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do. If you keep using 1Lock after a change, the new terms apply. A change to a paid plan is shown by the App Store before the next renewal, where Apple requires that.

These terms don’t take away rights you have under the law where you live.
